Crank Twister for the Clone:

1: insert crank in old block bolted to a table.
2: I prefer to put the key way 12:00 o’clock
3: Install the outer plate, If you have the degree wheel slide it over the crank and check the degrees indicated on the wheel.
4: If you know how much you need to move the gear twist the crank clockwise advance or counter clock wise to retard the cam.

Note: you can install it in your block by removing the cam and lifters and twisting it in your assembly. Always checking it.

Checking Cevterline:
Degree wheel set at TDC. Roll the valve to Max lift. Set dial indicator on the top of the pushrod to “0”. (you need to screw the tip out of the telescoping leg of the dial indicator so the tip of the pushrod will sit in the indicator properly) Roll engine backwards to .100 lift. Then roll engine forward to.050. ( rolling the engine backwards to .100 lift and then forward to .050 Takes slop out of the rod and wrist pin.). Write that .050 reading on the wheel down (59). Continue rolling in the forward direction to Max lift. Continue rolling forward ( the dial indicator will begin to go the other way) until you get to .050 again. Write that number down. (8). Add the two numbers. 59 + 8 equals 67. Add 180 to 67 equals 247. Divide by 2 equals 123.5. subtract the smaller of the two fifty’s equals 115.5 would be the center line.
